Updated 10/15/07 PERFORMANCES & EARLY ON-SALES BMP Events and the Washington Pavilion presents country music legend George Jones in concert with special guest Jason Byrd on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Hall. Tickets are $49.50 and $39.50 plus tax. All tickets are reserved seating. We were pleased to offer a special member pre-sale for this legendary performance - just one way for us to say: Thank your for being a member of the Washington Pavilion! ASTC MUSEUMS If you plan to travel, you may want to take a moment to look over the list of Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC). There are over 200 museums that waive admission fees for Pavilion members! Isn’t it great to be a Pavilion member? UPCOMING EVENTS Spooky Science Night Friday, Oct. 26 & Saturday, Oct. 27, 6-9 p.m. Come to the Kirby Science Discovery Center for candy sculpting, chocolate bug dunk, candied lighting, spider pretzels, taffy making, bed of nails, the slime-a-tron and so much more! A fund-raiser for the Discovery Center, Spooky Science Night runs from 6 to 9 p.m. both nights. Admission is $5 for members, $6 for the general public. Kids 2 and under are free. The event is suitable for all ages. Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes. No simulated weapons, please. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available now by calling the Washington Pavilion box office at (605) 367-6000 or toll-free 1-877-WashPav, or by stopping at the box office in person at 301 S. Main Ave. Space is limited, so advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. There is a $3 per ticket service charge on all phone orders for non-members. VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AT THE WASHINGTON PAVILION Students 12 years and older gain valuable experience in the work place as they interact and serve as a role model for children between the ages of 3 and 11 at Pavilion camps, classes, and special events. CineDome shows on the hour Wednesday and Thursday 1 – 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sun. 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Showing on Even Hours Oct. 6 - Jan.25, 2008 Ride Around the World: A Cowboy Adventure takes the viewer on a journey to four continents to experience the life of past and present-day cowboys from across the world. The film traces the global evolution of horse-and-cattle culture from its earliest beginnings in Morocco and Spain to every corner of the New World. Showing on Odd Hours Oct. 6 - Jan. 25, 2008 Returning to the CineDome is Amazon. As film-goers are guided through the Amazon region, they are introduced to an exotic array of animals including the jaguar, tipir, pipa toad and sloth. In addition, viewers become part of a “you-are-there” experience with several water creatures, such as pink dolphins, electric eels, piranhas and pirarucus—fish that can attain a length of 15 feet and a weight of 500 pounds. Beginning January 26 Dinosaurs: Alive! (showing on the even hours) and The Living Sea (showing on the odd hours CAMP-INS AT THE PAVILION! We have camping down to a SCIENCE! Join us for an unforgettable night at the Kirby Science Discovery Center. Camp-ins at the Washington Pavilion are a great way to experience hands-on science, the Wells Fargo CineDome, and many other fun activities. These exciting nights begin at 6pm with the fun going until 9am the following morning. Camp-ins are great for families, scouts, school groups, and other organizations.
