Second City 45th Anniversary Tour

Second City 45th Anniversary Tour The Second City 45th Anniversary Tour
Tuesday, February 22, 2005, 7 p.m.
Tickets: $25; $20 for students - plus tax
www.secondcity.com

The legendary satirical sketch comedy of Chicago’s Second City is headed for Sioux Falls. Performing a unique medley of sketches, songs, and improvisation, the Second City's National Touring Company brings its 45th Anniversary Tour to the Great Hall of the Washington Pavilion Tuesday, February 22.

Always original, daring, and hilarious, the Second City has created hysterical comedy out of every political scandal, cultural milestone and public disgrace for the past 45 years. Along the way it has also produced North America’s greatest comic talents, including Alan Arkin, Bill Murray, Chris Farley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Mike Myers, Tina Fey and many, many more. Almost all Second City actors got their start in the touring company.

While the current Second City National Touring Company features different names and faces, these seasoned actors create on-the-spot, topical comedy through dozens of skits poking fun at just about every institution one can name. The concept is simple: six actors, augmented by a musical accompanist and a sound and lighting director, perform a two-act revue featuring the Second City’s unique brand of satirical humor drawing from the vast archives of material created over 45 years.
