December 3, 2019
Each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, the world recognizes Giving Tuesday, a movement to create a day of giving at the beginning of the holiday season. This day offers people around the globe the opportunity to unite by supporting the causes that they feel strongly about and unites us all in the spirit of giving. We ask you, our dedicated patrons, to support the Washington Pavilion on December 3, 2019.
Kids Giving to Kids
Friday, November 29 to Tuesday, December 3, 2019
Encourage your child to make a gift to help other children in the community, and we will give them a gift in return!
Kids learn from their families the value of charitable giving and the Washington Pavilion hopes to foster in kids a spirit of giving back. Thus, from Friday, November 29 to Tuesday, December 3, any child who donates ANY AMOUNT towards our Open Door Initiative will receive one FREE Washington Pavilion admission voucher to be used that day or at a later date. If you have a membership, your child can gift a FREE voucher to another child in our community.
The Open Door Initiative provides scholarships as well as free and/or discounted opportunities for children to participate in programming at the Washington Pavilion.
Thanks to the generous support of Bob and Lori Sutton and Paul and Mary Ellen Connelly, all donations from kids will be matched up to $2,000. Kids can simply stop by the Box Office to make their donation or mail in their gift. No donation is too small.
Here are a few other ways you can make a difference on Giving Tuesday:
Sharing your passion for the Washington Pavilion can help transform our community and expand the impact of our programs. By sharing with others what the Pavilion means to you, you’re advocating to others to extend their support as well. Take a moment to share on social media why YOU support the Pavilion and what this organization means to you. It is also a great opportunity to ask your friends, family, colleagues and more to support your passion for the Washington Pavilion with a financial gift.
Volunteering your time and talent with the Washington Pavilion allows us to keep our expenses down and direct our dollars toward the programs that could most benefit, such as field trips for Title 1 schools and scholarships for camps and classes. In 2018, the estimated national value of a volunteer hour was $25.43. With a total of more than 13,530 hours of volunteer time donated thus far in 2019, that’s the equivalent of $344,067. Think of how great an impact your gift of time can have here!
A financial gift to the Washington Pavilion can have an immediate impact on our ability to provide opportunities to all of our community. Your gift ensures that we are able to source the best arts and science experiences and bring them right here to Sioux Falls. We’ve made it easy to support the Washington Pavilion on Giving Tuesday. Simply text OPENDOOR to 91999, give online or call Katharine Hults, Development Coordinator, at 605.731.2377. Thank you for supporting our mission to inspire, educate, entertain and enrich our region by creating opportunities for all to explore and experience the arts and science.
