From Whoville to Your TV: The Art of the Grinch

Now–January 24, 2026

Gallery 301

Artwork By

Chuck Jones

In 1966, master animator Chuck Jones brought Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! from page to screen, transforming the 1957 book into one of the most beloved holiday specials of all time. This exhibition showcases original production cels, concept sketches, and drawings that reveal the artistry behind the classic television film. Through Jones’s expressive animation and Seuss’s timeless storytelling, visitors can explore the creative collaboration that gave the world the green Grinch, the tender-hearted Cindy Lou Who, and the ever-faithful Max. Together, they remind us of the joy of transformation, generosity, and the spirit of Christmas.
