Your young performer can shine all year long with theatre classes at the Washington Pavilion! From acting and improv to musical theatre and tech, Spotlight Theatre Company offers exciting opportunities for kids and teens to grow their skills and build confidence on stage. Enrollment for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 classes is now open!
Classes by Age Group
Ages 6-10
Creative Drama
If you like to sing, dance, act and tell stories, then this is the class for you! Learn choreography, practice your singing and diction, and create stories to perform with a dynamic group of students.

Ages 11-18
Theatre Tech Essentials
Step behind the scenes and discover the essentials that bring a production to life! In this hands-on, 4-hour workshop, students will explore the fundamentals of technical theatre, including lighting, sound, set design, and stage management. Perfect for curious beginners or young techies looking to sharpen their skills, this class offers a fun and interactive introduction to the essential elements that power the stage.
Musical Theatre Dance
Designed for students ages 11–18, this high-energy class focuses on the dance styles and storytelling techniques found in Broadway musicals. Dancers will build confidence, stage presence, and technique while learning original choreography inspired by classic and contemporary shows. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just getting started, this class will help you shine in the spotlight!

Ages 13-18
Improv Academy
This class will focus on team building, active listening and how to think on your feet – all in a fun, fast-paced and pressure-free environment. At the end of the last session, students will have the opportunity to perform for their families.
Advanced Acting
Take your performance skills to the next level in this class designed for experienced young actors. Students will dive deeper into character development, scene study, and emotional authenticity through advanced techniques and ensemble work. With a focus on bold choices, honest connection, and refining craft, this class is perfect for dedicated performers ready to push themselves and grow as actors.
