Kirby Science Discovery Center

The Kirby Science Discovery Center is one of the region’s best hands-on science centers and occupies 21,300 square feet of the exhibition space on three floors of the Washington Pavilion’s south side. Over 100 highly interactive permanent exhibits feature topics ranging from aerodynamics and agriculture to dinosaurs and space exploration.

Through exhibitions and demonstrations, visitors have the opportunity to explore the principles of flight, to uncover the makings of natural phenomena such as tornadoes and earthquakes and to meet a 65 million-year-old Tyrannosaurus Rex replica named Stan.
