Sibelius described the mood of his sixth symphony as "cold spring water". Tchaikvosky's Symphony No. 6 was the result of a creative explosion. Between these two great symphonies, SDSO premieres a work by University of South Dakota composition professor Paul Lombardi.

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra pays tribute to the sounds of "a galaxy far, far, away." Music by John Williams from the groundbreaking film "Star Wars: A New Hope" in honor of the 50th anniversary of its debut, plus Star Wars saga highlights from "The Empire Strikes Back" to "The Mandalorian".
