Things to Do With Kids

There’s always something new to discover at the Washington Pavilion! Explore hands-on science, get creative with art and enjoy programs designed to give kids of all ages more ways to learn, play and try something new. From activities for little learners to after-school adventures, weekend workshops and special programs on days off from school, there’s always another reason to come back.

Big discoveries start small! Tiny Tinkerers introduces little learners ages 2-5 to STEAM through hands-on activities designed just for them. Each week, children explore new materials, practice problem-solving and build skills through play, with a new theme to discover each time.

What will they try next? Try-It Tuesdays gives kids a chance to explore new interests through hands-on STEAM activities inspired by real-world skills and careers. Each week brings something different to discover, from science and technology to art, engineering and more, with opportunities to learn from Washington Pavilion team members and community guests along the way.

Weekend Workshop invites creators of all ages to explore a new hands-on art activity using approachable materials, techniques and plenty of imagination. Drop in throughout the day to experiment, make the project your own and discover new ways to create.

No school means more time to explore! School’s Out Discovery Days bring special hands-on activities to the museums on select days off from school. Kids can explore science, technology, engineering, art and math while discovering new ways to experience the Kirby Science Discovery Center and Visual Arts Center.
