Preschool Teacher Assistant

The Preschool Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the Preschool Lead Teacher in providing a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program using best practices during the school year preschool program. The person in this position will need to adapt easily to changing situations and should take the lead when necessary and appropriate.  The incumbent must be a person who enjoys working with young children and diverse groups of people. Preschool Assistant Teacher should be willing to assist Head Teacher in classroom management, preparation, parent communication, and lesson planning and implementation.

The selected candidate could choose a 12 month full time (1.0 FTE) position which would combine the Preschool Assistant Teacher position for the school year and a Summer Camp instructor position, or the 9 month full time (.75 FTE) Preschool Assistant position only.  

Qualified candidates must have a Child Development Associate’s (CDA) degree or Bachelor’s degree in preschool field or related experience. A complete position description can be found here
