Sioux Falls, SD(05/01/25) — The Washington Pavilion is excited to participate in the Downtown Sioux Falls Art & Wine Walk on May 2. This event coincides with its monthly Free First Friday event, offering free museum admission from 5–8 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy tasty wine samples and explore stunning artwork in the eight spacious and captivating galleries of the Visual Arts Center. The event will also feature a special artist reception for “Echoes of Experience: The Augustana Senior Show.”
“Free First Friday combined with the Downtown Sioux Falls Art and Wine Walk creates the perfect cultural evening for our community. This exhibition is an important capstone that celebrates the hard work of sixteen graduating artists at Augustana University. Enjoy a diverse range of works showcasing the future of visual arts in Sioux Falls.
Washington Pavilion Gala Exhibition | Shultz Gallery | Now – June 9
Celebrate and support the arts! The artists included in this year’s Gala exhibition were hand-selected based on their demonstration of continued excellence in their individual practice. All works will be on auction at the Washington Pavilion Gala on June 12.
Symphōnía | Jerstad Gallery | Now – July 5
Step into a world of intricate, layered paintings that reimagine forests and water through the innovative lens of artist Mollie Hosmer-Dillard. This dynamic exhibition is a testament to experimentation, blending non-traditional, abstract techniques to capture the ceaseless evolution of nature. Each work is meticulously crafted using laser cutting, silkscreen methods, textile techniques, hand-ground ink and thinned oil paint, creating rich texture and depth.
Digital Daydreams | Egger Gallery | Now – August 31
Discover the creativity and dedication of thirteen students from Flandreau Indian School who took part in a special college-level art program. Led by Augustana professor Izia Lindsay, this project inspired these high school students to reflect on their indigenous roots and translate symbolic imagery into original digital media.
The People of West River: Photography by Greg Latza | Gallery 301 | Now – October 26
Explore the rugged beauty of western South Dakota through the lens of Sioux Falls photographer Greg Latza. The People of West River exhibition showcases striking images from Latza’s most recent book, West River, capturing ranch life, expansive landscapes and the spirit of the region.
