Prepare to be blown away by the Washington Pavilion’s new Dino-Mite exhibits!

New exhibits now open at the Kirby Science Discovery Center celebrate South Dakota history in unique ways. Children of all ages can learn about the dinosaurs that once roamed our state, as well as explore a rock quarry.

The Dinosaur Discovery area invites you to step back into prehistoric times and encounter dinosaurs like the Dakotaraptors, Pterosaur, Triceratops and others that roamed South Dakota so many years ago.

The Quarry Dig area guides you through the process of mining stones for building materials, starting with blowing up a quartzite cliff all the way to transporting the rocks from the site.

Experience the beauty of our home state with Learn South Dakota through an interactive quiz game, the Touchable Tornado and more.

The State of Wonder gallery showcases the abundance of natural beauty in our state through the panoramic and macro photography of Paul Schiller.
